BitOSDT uses deployment tooling that depends on Windows ADK/WinPE and elevated privileges. Confirm these requirements before continuing.

Windows ADK + WinPE Add-on Required

BitOSDT image build and deployment workflows require Microsoft Windows ADK and the WinPE optional components.

  • Install Windows ADK on the build host.
  • Install the matching Windows PE Add-on.
  • Confirm ADK tools are available before running image creation.

Elevated Permissions Required

BitOSDT runs privileged commands such as DISM, mount/apply operations, and boot configuration steps.

  • Launch BitOSDT with Run as Administrator.
  • Keep elevated permissions during build/deployment operations.
  • Non-elevated sessions can fail on DISM and imaging stages.
If ADK/WinPE is missing or elevation is not granted, image creation and deployment commands may fail before output is generated.
